Digital Literacy Toolkit

Use our digital literacy toolkit to enhance your ability to find, evaluate, create and communicate digital content and help your students/children to navigate the digital world better. You can explore different topics around digital literacy and help children develop into engaged digital citizens, critical thinkers and curious learners.

The toolkit provides parents and educators with a collection of lessons, videos, reading resources and posters to help you start teaching about digital literacy in your class or at home. The lessons are available in English as well as Nepali language.

Sameer Prasai

Sameer is a teacher at Karkhana. He has worked extensively on Digital Citizenship, designing resources to help teachers deliver these contents to their students. He has designed and delivered lessons and workshops on digital media literacy to school students, teachers and educational organization staff. Before joining Karkhana, he served as a teacher at elementary and middle school level.

Sameer has a Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering from VTU, Belgaum, India.

Hasin Shakya

Hasin is a researcher and teacher at Karkhana. He has worked extensively on Digital Citizenship, and co-authored both a curriculum and textbooks on the subject. He has served as a trainer for teachers in Nepal and Bangladesh on integrating Digital Citizenship in their curriculum. He has also served as a consultant for NYU Abu Dhabi and American International School Dhaka. He is also visiting faculty at Kathmandu University for their Masters in Education program.

Hasin has a Masters’ Degree in ICT from Telecom Sudparis, France and Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.
