The Book Bus is a mobile library initiative launched by the U.S. Embassy and operated by Karkhana Samuha. This innovative initiative travels across Nepal, delivering books, interactive storytelling, and hands-on workshops to schools, colleges, and community centers, especially in underserved areas.

Through engaging activities on topics such as environmental awareness, entrepreneurship, social issues, and cultural heritage, the Book Bus fosters a love for learning and exploration among children and youth, striving to make education accessible, inspiring, and impactful.

Book Bus Fellowship Program

Book Bus Fellows are passionate youth leaders who dedicate their time to promoting literacy, creativity, and community engagement. They facilitate reading circles, organize workshops, and lead hands-on activities designed to inspire and connect with children and youth. Fellows act as role models, bringing books and learning to life while gaining valuable skills in facilitation, leadership, and community-building.

During the book bus visit to Madhesh Province, I still remember everybody including students, teachers, youths, and community people was in awe and overwhelmed to see such a variety of books in a bulk amount and eagerly excited to read those books. The students have participated in engaging sessions like reading circles, human-centered design, interactive storytelling, and video reflection on child marriage.
One of the female students after participating in the video reflection session said that she was going to convince her parents to her higher study to achieve her aim of life and not to make her get married after grade 10. This made me realize the meticulous impact of this fellowship and I am so grateful that I am a part of this amazing fellowship journey. I am thoroughly enjoying this fellowship.
