Pokhara

American Corner Pokhara is a partnership and close cooperation between the AIRC U.S. Embassy, Kathmandu and the Pokhara Public Library.
Transformed 7 American Spaces, located across Nepal from libraries to makerspaces focused on developing entrepreneurship, innovative thinking and 21st century skills through a hands-on approach. American Spaces are US State Department operated community spaces that conduct public diplomacy through youth-focused services.
  • Developed curriculum, lessons and learning kits for entrepreneurship, innovative thinking and 21st century through STEAM education.
  • Designed and set up makerspaces and STEAM labs.
  • Trained cohorts, with a emphasis on increasing female participation in STEAM careers, to mentor students at the American Spaces
  • Provided professional development for American Spaces Staff to familiarize and raise awareness about makerspace programming
